The Origin of Kingyo Chochin(Goldfish Lantern)

Kingyo Chochin has been made by Rinzaburo Kumagaya using the ink for local traditional woven fabric “Yanaijima” in 1860s. The idea came from a popular festival “Nebuta” in Aomori.
